Complete Guide to Disposable Bed Sheets for Massage Tables

The bed sheet is the single largest thing a client’s skin touches during a massage or facial, and it is the item most spas get wrong. Either they are laundering fitted sheets between every client and drowning in laundry, or they are stretching one sheet across two clients and hoping nobody notices.

Disposable bed sheets solve both problems, but only if you buy the right size. Here is how to get it right.

Measure your table first

This is the step people skip, and it is the reason most sizing complaints happen.

Measure the length and width of the table surface, then decide how much overhang you want on each side. A sheet that only just covers the surface will shift during treatment and expose the table. You want enough to tuck or drape.

As a working rule, add at least 6 inches on each dimension beyond the table surface. A 24 inch wide table wants a sheet at least 30 inches wide.

Standard sizing in India:

30×70 inch at ₹8 per piece. Fits standard massage tables and facial beds, which are typically 24 to 28 inches wide and 70 to 73 inches long. This is the size most salons and spas need, and it is our highest-volume sheet.

42×80 inch at ₹13 per piece. For wider spa beds, clinic examination couches, and any table where you want generous drape. Also the right choice for treatments where the client moves, since the extra width means the sheet stays covering.

Both come 20 pieces per pack.

If your table falls between the two, size up. A sheet that is slightly too large drapes fine. A sheet that is slightly too small is unusable.

What they are made from, and why it matters

Our bed sheets are non woven, in spunbond and similar constructions. That gives you three properties that matter on a treatment table.

Water resistance rather than absorbency. Oil and water sit on the surface briefly rather than soaking straight through to the table upholstery. This protects the table, which is the expensive item. Massage oil degrades vinyl upholstery over time, and a barrier sheet extends the life of a table meaningfully.

Tear resistance under moderate stress. A client shifting position pulls at the sheet. Non woven handles that, though it will tear in a line once a tear starts, which is why GSM matters.

Breathability. The client is lying still for an hour. A plastic sheet would trap heat and sweat and feel unpleasant. Non woven breathes.

The laundry maths

This is where the decision usually gets made.

A reusable fitted sheet costs more upfront but is reused. The real question is the cost per use, which most spas never calculate because laundry costs are buried and staff time is invisible.

Per use, a reusable sheet costs you: a share of the purchase price divided by realistic lifespan, plus water, plus electricity for washing and drying, plus detergent, plus the staff minutes to sort, load, dry, fold and store, plus replacement when oil staining makes a sheet unpresentable.

That last point is underrated. Massage oil does not wash out cleanly. Reusable sheets in an oil-treatment spa go grey and blotchy within months regardless of how carefully they are laundered, and a stained sheet undermines everything else you do for presentation.

A disposable sheet costs ₹8. Once. No labour, no drying time, no stock of clean linen to maintain, and every client gets a visibly fresh sheet.

How many you need

Work from treatment volume, not guesswork.

One sheet per client, per treatment. If a client has a massage and then a facial on a different bed, that is two sheets.

Add roughly 10% for waste: sheets torn while opening, sheets used to cover a trolley, the occasional double-up on a longer treatment.

Using them properly

Lay, do not stretch. Non woven has limited stretch. Lay the sheet flat and let it drape rather than pulling it taut, which invites tearing.

Cover the face cradle separately. The face cradle touches skin directly and needs its own covering. A disposable towel or a folded sheet works.

Change between every client, visibly. Do it in front of the client where possible. The visible change is worth as much as the hygiene benefit.

Do not reuse for a “quick” second treatment. The whole point is single use. A sheet that has had a client on it for five minutes is used.

Bin immediately. Straight into the used bin, not draped over a chair while you reset the room.

What goes with them

A bed sheet alone does not complete the setup. For a full treatment room you also want:

Common mistakes

Buying one size for every table. If you have both a facial bed and a wide spa couch, you need both sizes.

Ordering without measuring. “Standard” varies between table manufacturers.

Buying the lowest GSM available. A sheet that tears while you are laying it means you use two, and the saving evaporates.

Storing on the floor. Non woven wicks moisture. Monsoon damp gets into floor-level stock and produces a musty smell that transfers to clients. Shelve it.

Forgetting the face cradle. It is the most direct skin contact point in the whole treatment and it gets missed constantly.
